For Functionally Active Fitness founder Eric Lemkin, exercise is supposed to be a fun, engaging and functional part of a healthy lifestyle. Lemkin has been a certified personal trainer for 17 years and has helped people ages 8-80 reach their fitness goals through customized personal training – specializing in exercise for the elderly or handicapped.

Lemkin is a certified personal trainer, strength and conditioning specialist and corrective exercise specialist. He has eight years of experience in corporate fitness management for such top companies as Ford, GM and Honeywell. He has also taught also taught Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Toledo, Owens Community College and Washtenaw Community College.

He is also a faculty member of Exercise, Etc., which provides continuing education for personal trainers, athletic trainers, and other exercise professionals. Lemkin has instructed hundreds of other exercise instructors on topics such as exercise technique, balance and fall prevention, nutrition, strength and conditioning, core training, power development and many others.

For his personal training programs, Lemkin’s goal is to reverse the negative effects of our current culture – that is, today’s lifestyle of sitting at a desk or on a couch without being active.
